This website contains monthly economic reports by the LIA’s Chief Economist, Dr. Pearl M. Kamer as well as Dr. Kamer’s periodic analyses of special topics of interest to the business and non-profit communities. You will find the LIA’s Annual Business Fact Book, also available on this site, extremely useful in understanding recent business trends. It contains detailed information concerning Long Island’s economic output, demography, labor force, consumer sector and real estate markets. These statistics are presented in the context of national and regional economic developments. The Fact Book analyzes employment and wages in financial services, technology, health care, educational services and tourism. It summarizes fiscal data for local governments in Nassau and Suffolk Counties in an understandable manner.
