Suffolk County Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commission Honors LIA President Kevin Law

On Friday, January 18, 2013 the Suffolk County Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commission and Institute for Nonviolence held their 23rd Annual Awards Luncheon.  Among the honorees were LIA President and CEO Kevin Law; Dr. John C. Pomeroy, MD  Department of Pediatrics Cody Center; Peter Dion, Superintendent of Bay Shore School; Rabia A. Aziz, LIMAC Long Island Minority AIDS Coalition's; Lt . Darlene Mc Clurkin, Suffolk County Sheriff Office; Alvin White, Director of Facilities at Huntington; Marvin Smith, Community Organizer; Dr. Veronica Henry ; Executive Assistant to the President Chief Diversity Officer; and Dr. Evon W. Walters Eastern Campus Executive Dean/Campus CEO.

The New York State Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission and Institute for Nonviolence is a unique organization dedicated to achieving social justice through education, advocacy and training in King-ian Nonviolence to address the social ills of racism, poverty, militarism and all forms of violence to achieve Dr. King's vision of the "Beloved Community".
